Tuesday would’ve been Martin Luther King Jr.’s 84th birthday. Monday marks our nation’s celebration of his life and achievements in civil rights. Using this activity guide and lesson plan from EDsitement!, students can learn about King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech and his commitment to equality through peaceful protest.

Attention NIE Teachers! Notice: NIE Copies Change

§ January 4th, 2013 § Filed under NIE News § No Comments

Due to overwhelming requests from schools and accelerating printing costs, beginning in January, free print copies of the Boston Herald will be limited to 20 copies per school. We regret this action and hope you will work with your colleagues to share the papers with other classrooms.

To make up for any inconvenience, we encourage you to try the online Boston Herald Smart Edition which is the exact replica of the daily print paper. We offer the Smart Edition - as many copies as you need - for free. As an added bonus, students are invited to use the Smart Edition at home for homework and family learning activities. The Boston Herald Smart Edition can be viewed on a variety of electronic devices that make it easy to view from home or the classroom.

Visit  www.bostonheraldnie.com now to order Smart Edition copies and find activities and tutorials to get everybody started. Or call 617-619-6220 with questions.

Thank you.
