Attention! Boston Herald NIE Moves Forward: No More Print Delivery

§ June 11th, 2013 § Filed under Computers and Technology, Current Events, Elementary School, High School, Middle School, NIE News § No Comments

Dear NIE Teachers,

Print delivery for the school year ends this Friday June 14th. We wish you all a safe and happy summer as we make an announcement about the future of the NIE program:

As this school year comes to an end, we wish to thank you for having  the Boston
Herald in your classrooms and sharing our news with your students  for the past 25
years. We are especially proud of the fact that many of our current  news-makers
and loyal readers were first introduced to the Herald by educators  like you and
we look forward to supporting future generations of young learners  for years to
come.

With time comes change and this past decade has seen technological  wonders that
have changed how we teach, how we learn, how  we conduct business  and how we connect
to the world. This September, the Boston  Herald will no longer  deliver print copies
of the newspaper to schools and will  instead concentrate all our  efforts in providing
you and your students the most  complete and convenient news  experience thru the
electronic Boston Herald Smart  Edition.

The online Boston Herald provides features that go beyond print and  the NIE Team
is ready to help you and your students learn to use it. Sample the  Smart Edition,
as well as treats from local legend Kick*ss Cupcakes, at our free  summer workshop
and dessert tasting! The event will be held at the Boston Herald in  the historic
Seaport Center on August 21st from 10-12pm. Please RSVP to brianne.costa@bostonherald.com to reserve a spot! Learn more here.

Sign up for the Smart Edition now and we'll see you in September!
