Professors—Order free online access for your students here.

The Boston Herald is pleased to expand its Newspapers In Education program to colleges and universities.

Free online copies of the Boston Herald Smart Edition are available for college professors and students.

The Smart Edition is an exact replica of the print newspaper, including the same layout and advertisements, but it’s available online. Students love the interactive format, and educators love how it enriches classroom discussions, research projects and homework assignments.

Your Free Smart Edition Subscription Includes:

  • Access to 30 days of back issues
  • Searchable archives
  • Ability to print and email articles
  • An online bank of curriculum guides and educational materials
  • And more!

Our program has been successful in K-12 classrooms for the past 25 years. Because we can now offer the newspaper electronically, we are able to make it available at no cost to teachers at the college level.

Please note: Smart Edition subscriptions must be ordered by professors, teachers, librarians or other school administrators. Students may not subscribe directly to the program.
